Fred Pappoe insists Kwesi Nyantakyi is making GFA vice president position “Irrelevant”Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association and Accra Great Olympics chief, Fred Pappoe has reiterated that Kwesi Nyantakyi is making the vice president position of the Ghana Football Association irrelevant. George Afriyie, who was the vice president of the country’s football governing body was relieved from his position on Tuesday after a meeting held. The Liberty Professionals director declared his intention to contest for the Ghana FA top position in 2019 during the celebration of his 50th birthday. However, multiple reports have emerged that president of the Ghana FA,Kwesi Nyantakyi is not impressed with the declaration of George Afriyie. In the past years, Fred Pappoe, Fred Crentsil and Randy Abbey were all relieved from their position under this same administration of Kwesi Nyantakyi without a clear explanation. “I am not in the position to choose who succeeds George Afriyie going forward,” Mr. Pappoe said in a tape played on OYEREPA FM”I think Kwesi Nyantakyi is making the vice president position of the Ghana Football Association irrelevant. I don’t understand why you should be saying things only to suit the Members of the FA but the next time you say anything unpleasant you are shown the exit”.
“This is not good for our football because we need people who can aid inthe development of our football and not this behaviour.” Quizzed if he will contest for the Ghana FA top post in 2019, the seasoned football administrator said, “I am yet to decide on that and when I am ready I will let everybody know”
